    New PGC in Mediation and Conflict Resolution

    Strathclyde Law School is launching a new Post Graduate Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Resolution in the academic year 2010/11. Mediation is an increasingly common form of dispute resolution deployed across various disputing spheres, including commercial and general civil matters, family, environment and planning, community, peer and additional support needs. This innovative course will be the first graduate level programme in Scotland designed to meet the growing academic needs of mediation professionals. The course shall be offered on a part-time basis over an eight month duration, with students taking two core modules Seminars will comprise mainly face to face to face seminars but may also involve some web-based delivery, workshops and practical, skill based sessions. Classes will be offered on a semi-intensive basis over 4 weeks. It is anticipated that this course shall be a forerunner to a Postgraduate Diploma/MSc/LLM which shall be rolled in out in future years.
