    Professor Alan Paterson receives OBE

    Friday 4th December was a special day for the Law School’s senior professor .  At 11.45 am he received his award as Officer of the British Empire from HRH The Princess Royal in Buckingham Palace for his services to Legal Education and to Law ( see photo). The award recognises Professor Paterson’s work as a past Chair of the Committee of Heads of University Law Schools in the UK and past President of the Society of Legal Scholars as well as his work on the Council of the Law Society of Scotland, the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland and the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission.


    ‘Commenting on the award, Head of the Law School, Professor Mark Poustie said, ‘This is a fitting tribute to Professor Paterson which rightly acknowledges his huge contribution over the years both to legal education and to the legal profession
